Melbourne Trip II

Now for part 2 of my melbourne trip. Not gonna have so many pics.
3rd day there was during x'mas. Its reli dumb, NO shops are open during tt day, 'cept the shops in Chinatown. So there are basically very few places to visit. And there are barely any decorations around in the city. =/
Anyway, since we've reli been rushing around a lot the last 2 days, we were allowed to sleep in a bit longer. Morning call was at 8.30, compared to 7 the last 2 days. We had another driver for tt day, a chinese guy, cos nick went home to celebrate x'mas with his family. My heart totally sank when the tour guide told us we were going to...i cant remember the name of the place, to have a BARBEQUE. ZOMG just when i thought i can finally escape from bbq -.- The place there was quite nice, quite a lot of ppl, and there were many wild parrots there.

Me feeding a parrot =) Anyway, good thing the bbq pit didnt need charcoal and all, so we can go there and cook straight away without starting a fire. Phew. Nothing much reli, 'cept i was helping cook the food, and there were doughnuts! I ate quite a few doughnuts cos nobody wanted to eat them. xD

So after lunch, we headed down to Yarra Valley to a winery! WOO~ Quite a pleasant surprise, cos the driver and tour guide were both expecting it to be closed. Best thing is, we were allowed to have free samples of their wine! We were allowed to sample their red and white wine, but there were different ones for those 2. So total around...15+ kinds of wine? I was expecting my dad to place some form of restriction on the amount i can drink, but he didnt. I just drank and drank and sampled ALL the kinds of red and white wine they provided. =D No, i didnt get drunk, in fact i've never gotten drunk before though i drink quite a lot. But i think i drank a bit too quickly. For each glass of wine, i took 2 sips to sample the taste, then drank down the remaining like it was a shot glass, so my throat was burning in the end. xD Hmm i cant rmb all the names of the wine, i took a brochure from there but my dad lost it -.- I think i like Shiraz the best there, but there's another one, tastes like champagne, also not bad. We were then allowed to visit their grape farms which they use to make wine.

I know the pic is reli small, but i was holding a bunch of grapes in my hand. They're reli small, cos they just started bearing fruit not long ago, harvest will be in april/may.

After this, we headed down to a store to do a lil bit of shopping. Its just one store, i wonder if u can call tt shopping. Anyway, the shop was owned by a chinese guy. Our tour guide has been frens with him for more than 10 years, so she brought us there. We saw this notebook, that has a 100 dollar note picture in front of each page. My dad,bro and i thought it was reli interesting, and wanted to buy, since it's just 5 bucks. But my mum was saying later police catch us for owning counterfeit notes, etc etc. So after much argument, we didnt buy it in the end. The aunties were all interested in buying abalone from tt store, but the store owner took out abalones that are already expired, and tried to sell them -.- The aunties didnt realise at first, cos they duno english, but our tour guide noticed it. So she actually had a quarrel with him before he took out the non-expired ones. She was saying how disappointed she was, after being frens for 10 years, blah blah blah, throughout the whole journey back to our hotel. I thought it was quite irritating, but its a good thing to have a responsible tour guide i guess.

We were then allowed free time to walk around the city. Not a lot of shops were open, so we just had dinner at a korean restaurant, then walked around the city. Sorry shelvi, i didnt get the chance to go Melbourne University =x Anyway, we decided to go to the casino, since my dad was itching to gamble. But hell, my bro and i were denied entry into the casino -.- My bro obviously couldnt enter, cos hes still under the legal age. Im past the legal age, but the person at the entrance insists on seeing some form of identification. We didnt bring out passports with us, so my bro,mum and i just sat outside and ate ice-cream, while my dad went in to gamble. As usual, yea, usual, my dad lost money. Good thing we gave him a time limit to stay inside, so he came out at 9.30pm, losing only about 20+bucks. Phew. He lost a few hundred bucks the last time he went inside casino in gold coast -.- Soo thats how i spent my x'mas, nothing exciting really.

I'll post the final part next time. Im too lazy now. =x
