Melbourne Trip

Okayy so i finally got the pics from my mom, so im here to blog about my melbourne trip. Beware, long post. We were supposed to take the 9pm flight, so we left house at..5pm? I think. Did the usual checking in and stuff. My mom saw that our seats are at 59 EFGH, and she was so pissed that its gonna be the seats at the very back, where we have to endure the smell of the toilets and the heat of the engines (had a bad experience once), but turned out, it wasnt the last. Plane was really warm, we just thought the air con was not turned on, since a lot of ppl are not on board yet. BUT WE WERE WRONG. After waiting like 15 mins, the plane captain told us that the air con got problem, need to wait for engineers to come and fix. There were also no other available planes, so we had to endure the warm conditions for one whole freaking hour. ZOMG.

Reached Melbourne the next day in the morning. The time there is 3 hours ahead of singapore time. After waiting ages for our whole tour group to gather (26 ppl, including my family), we finally left to tour around. We didnt head to hotel straight, cos the plane delayed everything, and we didnt have much time left. We took a coach, got to know our driver Nick, our tour guide Nancy, and the rest of the group. After travelling for like 1 hour+, we arrived at Ballarat Wildlife Park.

We had close contact with animals like Kangaroo, Koalas, Echidnas, Wombats, Eagles, but mostly Kangaroos since they are everywhere. Also saw many snakes and crocodiles.

Me feeding a Kangaroo. The very first thing we saw after we entered. Everyone was afraid of touching it, so i went to touch it first, and everyone else followed. The lil kangaroo is so cute. HAHAHA.

My family with a Koala. I wanted to carry it, but the guide said there's a national law that normal ppl are not supposed to hug them. =/ There were 2 more koalas on a tree branch, but they were not in the mood for phototaking, kept looking away, so they arent in this pic. xD

Me with wombats. OWN UP! Whoever's thinking that wombat is a type of bat. LOL. They're all sleeping, and dont seem to wake up even when so many ppl are touching them. I bet they wont even know if they got raped. =x Anyway, it was really funny, cos they were covered by some metal wall at first, so nothing could be seen. When the guide opened the door, this small lil girl saw the wombats and started crying. HAHAHA.

We didnt take pics for other animals. But the entire tour around the wildlife park was FUN. The animals are so cute and friendly. I seriously dont mind working there with the animals, gonna be fun. Anyway, we went to the Great Ocean Road next. Supposed to have fish and chips there for lunch, but we were way behind time, so we just stopped somewhere are ate Macdonalds. LOL. It's crazy, beef burgers are much cheaper than chicken burgers there. Was quite excited at first, cos there're a few burgers that are not seen in Singapore, like the triple cheeseburger, and the double beef and bacon burger. I had the double beef and bacon burger and... -.- It's just a double cheeseburger, with a layer of bacon on top. And i've nvr liked mac's fries, so dam salty. I always remove the salt before eating them, which takes a great deal of effort, and always results in the table being salty. Oh and they had a national law that people are supposed to clear their own tray after eating, there arent any workers to help you clear your tray. Good place to cultivate good habits. Hahaha.

Anyway, after another 1hr+ ride, we reached the Great Ocean Road. Our tour guide was hilarious. Her chinese is pathetic, she didnt know how to say 12 wen2 tu2(apostles), and kept saying 12 sheng1 xiao4(zodiac). HAHAHA. The air there was really fresh, though i couldnt really breathe well with my flu. And the scenery was beautiful, the great ocean. Zomg.

Me and family, with the broken london bridge behind. Whoever took geog before will know what happened to that bridge. Story goes that 2 ppl were stranded on the lonely piece of rock when the bridge broke, and a helicopter had to be brought in to rescue them.

Okayy actually got a few more pics here, but lazy to upload. So after this, we went to eat dinner! Zomg buffet, and a lot of stuff are beef. My mom and bro had a hard time, cos they dont like beef. But i loved it, and ate so much. =/ And we went to our hotel. Didnt stay at melbourne city that night, stayed in some hotel in Ballarat. Stupid, we reached the hotel, found out another tour group from China took our rooms, so we didnt have rooms although we booked it. The hotel staff didnt even check whether the names of the ppl and number of ppl match, they just saw that china group was quite big, and just gave them the room. -.- Nancy sorted things out somehow, and we went to our rooms.

Next day morning, had buffet for breakfast, so ate a lot again. We then went to Murrays Lookout. Great view.

Can see all the little houses from there. But theres nothing much other than the scenery. So we went on to Geelong to the strawberry farm! We were given this plastic container to pick as many strawberries as we want, but we have to be able to close the cover, if not have to pay more. Also, we're not allowed to eat while picking the strawberries. But nobody cares actually, there isnt any strict surveillance, so our tour guide was telling us to pick one, eat two. HAHAHA.

Mom, bro and me with the strawberries we picked, and the farm behind. OWN UP! Whoever thought strawberries grow on tall trees. HAHAHA. The strawberries are really BIG and RED and taste so NICE. But my container was too full, and i got caught. Or rather, the person just called me to a station to pay extra. I just took out one strawberry, popped it in my mouth, and showed the person that mine can cover, so i didnt have to pay extra. LOL. Then we were provided with strawberry ice cream after all that picking. Wasnt exactly fantastic, but its free ice-cream! Im like my dad, ice cream lover. =)

We were actually given one whole hour to pick the strawberries, but all of us finished it within 20 minutes. We had free time, so the tour guide brought us to an apple farm next! No, no picking of apples, just there to take a look.

Look at the apples, so SMALL. Want to pick also cannot. Hahaha. Its not the season, i think, or the staff picked all the big ones already. They also had a cherry farm, but its not accessible by car, and its 1km WALK away, so we didnt go. But the staff there gave us free samples of cherries. Zomg they're so big and sweet!

We went to the Ashcombe National Park afterwards. No, not more animals, it's plants this time. There are so many flowers in there, but mostly lavenders. There's a lavender maze, a rose maze, and a high hedge maze. It's really a maze, have to walk around to find the way out. But was quite easy to get out, no kick. HAHAHA.

Lavender maze. My bro was kinda scared to stand there, cos there are SO MANY bees around. Like really really a lot! Ohh i forgot to mention. Now is houseflies season, so there are A LOT of houseflies around. They just stay on your shirt and fly around your face, so irritating. =/

At night, we went to philip island! Went to a chocolate factory, but workers all stop work already. Go there only see machines. o.o Bought some chocolate lar, but didnt buy a lot, cos my dad dont want give my mum money. LOL. Andd we went to the penguin island afterwards! We're supposed to camp around in this sea shore, and wait for the penguins to come back from fishing. Had to wait till nightfall, which is like 9pm cos of daylight savings. And the penguins came back from the sea! They're really small, like only 30+cm, and cute. They build their home, small lil caves, on a small hill. The penguins will return in groups, like 7~10 per group. They will come to shore and swim back to sea while waiting for the whole group to come. Then 1 will stay behind to wait for another group while the rest go home. I bet they're really muscular, climbing hills to go home everyday. But no pictures though, cos at night, need flash to take picture. But no flash allowed, cos may blind the penguins.

Okayy im quite tired from blogging, will blog more tmr or something. xD

Im back in singapore. But i'll prolly blog about my melbourne trip after i get pictures from my mum's cam.

Its easy if you do it right

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY MAN UTD WON THE FIFA CLUB WORLD CUPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!! WAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA Zomg im dam glad i can watch this match before i leave for melbourne tmr. 1-0 with man utd winning LDU Quito, rooney scored the goal. I missed half of the first half cos my family wanted to go out for dinner. But YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! Anyway, my b'dae ytd. Had bbq and stayover at th's house on friday/ytd. Yes yes, bbq again. Having 3 bbqs in one week is crazy, my kidneys are prolly going chao ta. But i doubt im gonna have another bbq anytime soon, which is good. TH's bbq pit didnt need charcoal, so i didnt need to fan the flames. LUCKY. But i did quite a lot of cooking, while the guys played bball on PS3. We played the real bball for a while, played mahjong, watched real bball, etc. I only went to slp at 5+..but didnt exactly slp much. I woke up a lot of times. I didnt lie down to slp, there wasnt space on the sofa, so i sat on the chair and slept. xD Left th's house at 10+, reached home at 11.10, and i went straight to slp. I skipped lunch cos i was slping. Woke up, dressed up, and went to meet rowena at vivo! LONG LONG time since i went out with her, like more than half a year. Did some shopping and some catching up. Was good spending time with her, 'cept i was still really tired -.- And she baked..uhh not reli cookies, mini cakes?.. for me! Only second time i get to eat something she baked, first was during valentines =) THANKS RO!! You spent your time with me during my b'dae last year, you did the same this year. Im reli thankful, and the mini cakes were nice =) Also special thanks to EMO CHEN! My emo fam daughter! =) Silly girl, was the first to send me a happy b'dae msg, but was disappointed when i told her she wasnt the first to wish me happy b'dae. So she sent me an offline msg on msn saying happy b'dae(though i didnt receive it o.o ), so that she'll be the first to wish me happy b'dae on computer as well. HAHAHAH. THANKS you silly girl! =) Ohh and pearlynn sent me a happy b'dae msg too, which was a pleasant surprise, cos it's been years since i last received a sms from her xD Shelvi sent me a msg from Indonesia as well. =) HAHAHA my conversation with my mum was dam funny just now. I was blowing my nose cos my flu hasnt exactly recovered, so my mom came in and ask me 'yao bu yao zai chi yi ci yao' (want to eat medicine anot?), and i misunderstood it (cos i was listening to music on my comp) as 'yao bu yao chi yi dian cheese?' (want to eat some cheese?) HAHAHAHHAHAHA. Okayy so im going overseas tmr, melbourne. Wont be back till saturday night i think. So yea, i wont be celebrating x'mas in singapore. My blog's gonna be dead for one week. Oh and i realised, i actually have quite a few loyal readers, but so few ppl tag my tagboard -.-

No tags back! 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about me. 1. I speak real slowly, but I love to rap, both english and chinese songs. (Eminem for the win!) 2. I've been mischievous since primary school. I ran away from school during primary 3 because I didnt do my homework. Teacher made me stay for detention, I stayed for 5 mins, and ran home when my teacher wasnt looking. 3. I got 3 frens (wankee,weiyao,xuexuan) who were in the same class as me during pri 1/2, after which i moved house/school. We were back in the same class during sec 1/2. HAHAHA. 4. I left jurong pri sch end of pri 2, so there was a free spot in my class during pri 3. Alderic took that place, we ended up in the same class for the entire sec sch life. =) 5. Something serious happened to me last year april, and I had to go to police headquarters to give a statement. The issue got me emo for many many months. Bro. Paul gave me the permission to just walk out of class without explaining reason to teachers. Till now, the whole sch only Bro.Paul and Mr. Michael Tan knows about it, together with around 2 of my frens. I dont really wanna talk about it, so dont ask me about it. =) 6. I'm sorta an animal activist, or maybe just an animal lover. There was once Mr Chan showed an animal abuse video during GP lesson, and I cried. Thing is, there wasnt even much animal cruelty in that video. 7. I go vegetarian for a few days every month because I feel guilty for eating meat. 8. I was really really FAT when i was young because ppl from china believe in having a fat and chubby son. My maternal grandma stayed in singapore when i was young, made rice dumplings for me everyday -.- 9. I had an injection on my butt a few years ago, not because of anything serious. Only cos' of a fever. LOL. This is how doctors in China do their stuff i guess. 10. I live in a family of smart people, but im not smart myself. My dad completed his Masters degree in Imperial University(the...6th best university in the world?), and now both my parents are scientists/researchers in A*Star, with my dad majoring in physics and my mum in chemistry. My younger bro thrashed me in PSLE, he got 267(i think) and i only got 240. He's now in Hwa Chong Institution with all his grades A1, and thinking of majoring in Biology. Talk about science family -.- The 10 people: Not tagging anyone. Too lazy to think of names.

It's funny, everyone's celebrating my b'dae in advance, so i dont reli have plans on my b'dae itself. LOL. Okayy lar, im going out in evening/night, but i'll be totally free in the day. x.x Supposed to have outing with first intake class today, but couldnt go =/ BBQ tmr with bang bang ppl, then bbq on friday with the guys, b'dae on sat, sunday stay home slp, monday go melbourne! Zomg and i havent fully recovered fully from my flu/cough/sore throat. Unreal, its been so long since im sick for so long. The last time was around half a year ago. Had high fever, then burned down to fever for a week. Then it burned up to high fever again, and down to fever for another week. So i was sick for 2 weeks then. LOL. Anyway, im confused. On your b'dae, are u supposed to treat ppl? or are ppl supposed to treat u?

BBQ on friday. Ate quite a lot of my otah. YAY. But i already had a terrible sore throat before bbq, eating bbq food made it worse. I almost lost my voice. =/ Most of the guys there didnt drink, so the beer was quite wasted. I downed 2 cans, while a few ppl drank another one. Surprising things is, jin an ask me whether got wine. LOL. Funny, guys nvr drink, but a girl ask me got wine anot. We didnt buy, so i just went home and took a bottle of red wine. Dad didnt let me take the Hennessy, scared get drunk -.- Then we couldnt reli finish the food, so i called my bro down to help. HAHAH. Went back my house after lights blacked out and ate the cake. The girls and zhao long had to leave earlier, scared miss the last bus. While the others stayed over at my house. The guys and my bro played cards while joshua and i played guitar hero. Then when everyone bathe finish, we played mahjong. Didnt play money lar, we werent exactly sure how to count. I was on a losing streak at first, nvr win at all. But i managed to win 3 in the end lar, out of what..about 10 games? lol. Then watched movies, stupid videos on youtube, before everyone fell aslp at 4am. xD I only slept a while though, was reli sleepy. So i just played my comp while they slept. It's crazy, joshua and eugene sleep talks, and joshua snores quite loudly. Woke up, my dad bought dou4 jiang1 you2 tiao2 for our breakfast. Then we watched another movie before everyone left. I plan forgotten that it was my mum's b'dae, until my bro sms-ed me. Just the usual celebrations, go out for dinner, come back eat cake. My throat is still bad, my voice isnt exactly back, and my flu isnt exactly gone. Stupid lar. Oh well. I wanna buy x'mas presents for people, but i wont be in singapore during x'mas, and i duno when i'll get to meet them. =/ I got to come up with a plan fast, im going melbourne soon!
